Our History of Growth & Innovation

1997 Ethico was originally a division called "ComplianceLine" within the company Compliance Concepts, founded by a group of experienced E&C consultants.

1998 Compliance Concepts released SanctionCheck to serve as a screening tool, mostly for healthcare organizations. In the same year, ComplianceLine was set up in Charlotte, NC.

2002 The company developed the earliest version of what would become its case management system: “My Compliance Management” (MyCM).

2003 After the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, there was a greater need for anonymous reporting systems and ComplianceLine grew beyond healthcare to other industries.

2004 MyComplianceReport.com (MCR) was released to serve as an online anonymous reporting system available alongside hotline reporting options.

2013 The operations of the anonymous hotline and screening service were formally organized under the name ComplianceLine, setting itself apart from the consultative function of Compliance Concepts.

2016 Spurred by ongrowing growth, ComplianceLine needed leadership skilled in business development. The dynamic brothers, Nick and Giovanni Gallo took up the challenge.

2019 ComplianceLine released LicenseCheck, a new use of the SanctionCheck infrastructure to allow organizations to conduct regular reviews of professional licenses.

2020 ComplianceLine began offering inbound and outbound Exit/Stay Interview services for both compliance and HR teams.

2021 Nick and Giovanni Gallo start the podcast series “The Ethics Experts” in which they interview various compliance, ethics, and leadership professionals.

2022 ComplianceLine’s name changed to: “Ethico.” Shortly after, the company begins to produce the free educational webinar series “Ethicsverse.”

2023 The development of Ethico’s disclosure management system was completed, enabling compliance teams to distribute and collect COI or Gifts and Entertainment disclosures all from MyCM.
